Mafalda Martins Lourenço is an Of Counsel and has been at Abreu Advogados since 2015. Her experience is largely international in Portuguese speaking countries (Angola and Brazil).

She lived two and a half years in Angola where she was the Legal Director and General Secretary of Banco Millennium Angola, and then in São Paulo for six years she was the Director of Legal Affairs  of Portuguese-Brazilian media / information Technology group.

She was also the President of Associação das Consulesas de São Paulo (Association of Consuls) where she promoted several activities. Her international experience has enabled her relationships with people/institutions abroad.

Prior to her international life she worked at Abreu Advogados and was the Legal Counsel to the Minister of Public Works, transportation and Communications. 


Advisement under the scope of foreign investment in Portugal (individual or corporate) assisting Portuguese companies to invest in Brazil.

Speaker at international conferences related to Wealth Management.

Advising on public procurement (telecommunications, infrastructures and transport) and drafting legislation, from the Government's point of view.

Experience in Corporate Governance, coordination a group of companies, improving governance practices.

Advising as Director of Legal Affairs of Millennium, in major projects in Angola such as the financing the Reconstruction of Baia de Luanda and negotiating with the Angolan Government.

Collaboration with the National Bank of Angola in the elaboration of legislation / definition of procedures.

Advising in the areas of information technology, before and after the Brazilian civil milestone, internet portal, real-time technology, health technology.

Experience as Compliance Officer.

Publication of several articles in Brazilian newspapers and magazines about investment in Portugal.
