Inês Pires is an Associate Lawyer and has been at Abreu Advogados since 2018 working primarily on matters related to intellectual property, consumer law, data protection and media law.
She is frequently invited to teach in several sessions of courses in Portuguese universities, on personal data issues and gives training related to advertising, television and written press.
Advising on GDPR (GeneraAdvising on GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) in different sectors (retail, insurance, healthcare, advertising and marketing, automotive), drafting privacy policies providing legal opinions, special data categories, audits, violations of personal data, impact assessment on data protection, preparing and revising contracts.
Advising on matters related to intellectual property (copyrights, trademark registration and conflict management related to possible confusion of brands).
Advising on legal matters related to media, drafting contracts and legal opinions (freedom of the press/ right to information, personality rights, right of response, audio visual and press, electoral rights, and others).
Advising on consumer related matters, specifically advertising, e-commerce and, competitions.
Legal analyses and drafting of legislative diplomas, providing information for international reports and monitoring auto-regulatory meetings with operators (revision and definition of new practices) in the audio-visual sector.
Conducting pre-litigation proceedings, monitoring inquiries before the regulating authorities in the areas of media and consumption and working on litigation processes.
Working directly with Government on the legislative process, analysing and drafting legislative and regulatory diplomas for different industries to be approved by the Council of Ministers and providing legal opinions relating to different sectors, as well as preparing negotiations with unions.
Providing in-person support and legal clarification in meetings with Secretaries of State and coordinating negotiations meetings with government cabinets and leading Public Administration officers.
