Sustainability School

Between the 1^st and 4^th December 2020, the first edition of Abreu Advogados Sustainability School took place with more than 40 participants. Promoted by the Knowledge Institute with the participation of some of the principal players in the areas of law and sustainability, the initiative was created for the technical training and awareness raising of final years law students. It allows them to debate one of the principal economic themes which will, without a doubt, influence lawyers’ professional paths in the next decade.

The students had the unique opportunity to present their projects and the following initiatives were selected as winners:

• “Trocado por Miúdos”, a project which proposes the creation of short videos (maximum 2 minutes) that explain themes related to law in a simple and concrete way as a way of promoting legal literacy at all layers of society and demystifying legal jargon.
• “Programa de integração profissional com refugiados (Programe of professional inclusion with refugees)”, a programme of professional inclusion of refugees and migrants within Abreu Advogados, tied to a system of support and legal assistance.
• Honourable mention to the project “Green Summit”: promotion of a week-long event that promotes incorporation of the theme of sustainability in relationships with stakeholders of Abreu Advogados.

The winning ideas will be incorporated into the action plan in 2021 and implemented.
