On March 25th, 2020, the Timor-Leste Tax Authority, concerned about the global pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus, announced to all taxpayers (including individuals and companies, NGOs, construction contractors, mining services, sea and air transport services) the approval of the extension of the deadline for submit the annual and monthly income tax forms until May 31, 2020.
The Tax Authority has announced the new Tax Authority's electronic address (www.attl.gov.tl) in order to access the E-Service Online, which comprises the following services:
1. Access to the E-Service Online register;
2. Submission of the monthly and annual income tax forms, including Zero Form;
3. Submission of the tax payment receipt through the E-Filling Online system.
In order to avoid the spread of COVID-19 in the national territory, taxpayers were required to replace the personal delivery of monthly and annual income tax forms and for the online delivery through the E-Service Online, where taxpayers can register, submit the monthly and annual income tax form, including the zero form, and submit the tax payment receipt, in case of taxpayers who have already paid the tax at Banco BNU.
In terms of execution of operations, the Tax Authority reported that the tax officers will process and insert the forms submitted online directly into the system, preventing taxpayers from being subject to fines.
The E-Service Online operates from 08:00 am to 5:30 pm.
