Ana Rita Duarte de Campos completes Abreu Advogados’s bet on a team 100% specialised in Criminal Law

Abreu Advogados has announced the reinforcement of its team in Criminal Law, Sanctions Law & Compliance with the inclusion of the professional partner, Ana Rita Duarte de Campos.

Abreu Advogados’ newest lawyer comes from Vieira de Almeida, and will join Pedro Barosa. Together the two will provide a specialised response in an area which is increasingly strategic for companies’ business all over the world. Ana Rita Duarte de Campos has 15 years’ experience in Criminal Law, and has accompanied some of the most complex issues in this area in Portugal, particularly in the area of economic and financial crimes.

Along her career path she has worked for some of the main Portuguese law firms and has experience working with clients in the banking and insurance sectors.

Alongside her important career in Criminal Law practice and participation as a speaker in academic and corporate events, Ana Rita Duarte de Campos is Vice President of the Portuguese Bar Association, with responsibility for the areas of Legislative Policies and Young Lawyers since 2017. Representing the Association, she is a member of the Prevention and Fight against Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Policy Coordination Committee, created by the Council of Ministers, has been part of the Inter-Ministerial Group on Justice Affairs, and has been the Association’s representative at the Fedération des Barreaux d’Europe.

Ana Rita Duarte de Campos holds a degree in Law from the Universidade de Lisboa Faculty of Law. Her academic training includes a postgraduate qualification in Economic and EU Criminal Law from the Institute for Economic and EU Criminal Law at the Universidade de Coimbra Faculty of Law, and a Masters in Legal-Criminal Sciences. She was also Assistant Lecturer at Universidade de Lisboa Faculty of Law, where she taught Civil Procedure Law.

With the recent entry of Ana Rita Duarte de Campos, and Pedro Barosa, Abreu Advogados now has 13 professional partners, among a total of 28 Partners and over 200 lawyers.
