Abreu Advogados Top Tier Firm in the Legal 500 ranking

The legal ranking announced today the last year results and Abreu Advogados is highlighted in a new leadership position among the main national firms and the recognition in Tier 1 for Tax LawIntellectual Property and Angola: foreign firm.

The Legal 500 directory has published its most recent ranking for the 2020 activity and Abreu Advogados is, once again, in the lead for the main practice areas analyzed, having even been classified as a Top Tier Firm in Tax Law, Intellectual Property and Angola: foreign firm.

In an adverse and uncertain year, the law firm achieved, with strength and resilience, recognition by the Legal 500 in 17 different categories, as well as 10 individual distinctions and an increase in ranking in 5 practice areas.

In the results published today, three of Abreu’s practice areas were ranked as Tier 1, eight as Tier 2 and nine as Tier 3. Amongst the distinctions, highlight to the rise to Tier 1 of the Tax, Intellectual Property and “Angola: foreign firm” practice, and also the rise of Employment to Tier 2 and Real Estate & Construction, Banking and Finance to Tier 3.

The Legal 500 also recognized the individual performance of its lawyers, pointing 4 of them as Leading Individuals (António AndradeFrancisco PatrícioManuel Santos Vítor e Maria Dulce Soares), the distinction of 4 partners as Next Generation Partners (Alexandra CourelaPatrícia VianaPedro Barosa e Rodrigo Formigal). The honorary partner and founder of Abreu Advogados, Miguel Teixeira da Abreu, and the of counsel, César Bessa Monteiro, were integrated in the Hall of Fame of the ranking.

The legal innovation and excellence of Abreu Advogados’ performance were recognized by the most recent edition of the Legal 500. The results presented in the international reputed legal directory are the result of a research work that evaluates the work carried out in the previous year, crossing this with information collected from clients and peers. This directory evaluates firms in 150 jurisdictions, comparing them in order to obtain a global vision of the legal market.
