Abreu Advogados at the cutting edge of Cybersecurity with the inclusion of a Security Operations Centre

Abreu is the first entity in the law and justice sector in Portugal, and one of the first at world level, to present a SOC with its own premises and internal team, enabling the firm to continue the work it has been doing to detect and combat cybercrime, in cooperation with public and private organisations throughout the world.

According to João Cupertino, head of IT at Abreu Advogados, “Abreu is proud to be able to present a new service that reflects a clear focus on digital transformation, particularly in the area of Cybersecurity, with the major multinational organisations as a reference, regardless of their sector and size. Our action was structured to establish cooperation with other entities in the sector and with organisations in the cybersecurity field. We want to promote and participate on all major threat intelligence networks around the world and to develop cooperation among the legal sector, to enable detection and prevention for current and future cyber threats. The risks to security are high and the market needs a quick and effective response from all organisations, and law firms are not different”.

This recent security and information centre is at the cutting edge of technology for monitoring security related events with IT assets (information, networks and systems) managed by the firm, fostering expansion of Abreu’s capacity in terms of cybersecurity and aiming to meet the growing market demand for data breach detection. This solution enhances Abreu’s capacity regarding prevention and detection of security breaches, continuing the route that has been taken of differentiation, technological innovation and focus on efficiency for data protection in an era of new challenges for digital transformation.
