Abreu Advogados participates in Doing Business 2020 Report

Doing Business is an annual report published by World Bank – this year’s edition focused on Tackling burdensome regulation – that gauges the regulation efficiency in a group of economies serving as a benchmark in the elaboration of public policies in order to diminish costs and improve corporate context conditions. The report gauges corporate environmental quality by measuring quantity indicators in a number of pillars.

In the 17th edition of this (important/decisive) report, Abreu Advogados enjoyed quite a predominant role contributing several articles for the sectors dedicated to Portugal, Angola and Timor-Leste. Abreu Advogados Partner, Carmo Sousa Machado; Associate Lawyer, Ana Luísa Ferreira; Professional Partner, Tiago Castanheira Marques; and Trainee Lawyer, Marta Castro Henriques contributed to the Sector on Portugal. Angola’s sector was provided by Professional Partner Luís Fraústo Varona. In the case of the sector on  Timor-Leste, the contribution included local partner from C&C Advogados Timor-Leste, Elisa Pereira, as well Associate Lawyer Margarida Duarte Santos and Trainee Lawyer Carolina Chaves.

Doing Business 2020 is part of a series of annual reports that help determine which regulations stimulate businesses and which regulations restrict them.
